Greetings!
Looking for volunteers for the Annual Metro Parks, serving Summit County "STOMP" bicycle adventure to be held Sat. Sept 4, 2010. (STOMP=Summer Tour Of Metro Parks). This is a fundraiser for the Metro Parks levy campaign and is sponsored by the Friends for Metro Parks organization, a non profit group who support the activities of Metro Parks. The event has grown from ~100 riders to 1400 riders, over the past 15 years.
We have over 100 volunteers who do various things including SAG wagon, bike repairs, food stops, food prep and service. We specifically need one group of volunteers for the water/food/fun stop at Furnace Run Metro Park off Townsend Road in Richfield. The stop needs to be manned from approximately 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. In addition to providing support to the riders, volunteers are encouraged to have some sort of fun "theme". However, that is not manditory. You can promote your group with a banner or sign as well. Metro Park provides all the water, beverages and food (donated by local vendors) and delivers it to the site along with tables and chairs, trash cans and recycle containers. All volunteers have to do is show up. At least two people are needed to work the station, if you have more volunteers they could work in shifts. T-shirts will be provided to all members of your team.
Please contact me for more info at 330-524-2887 or by email.
Thanks!
